The Afro Unicorn Foundation, in collaboration with Mayor Pro Tem Lillie P. Darden and Planet Health Compton, is proud to present The Unique, Divine & Magical Small Business Market this Saturday, February 17. The event to be held at Planet Health Compton (546 W. Compton Blvd.) will be free and open to the public from 12 - 3pm, and it will include shopping, food, fun activities, and more.
Among the day's many highlights will be guest speaker Kar Christian-Stewart, CEO of Pucker Up Lemonade Co. Don't miss her informative and engaging talk at 1 p.m. titled Strategies for Success: Making Lemonade out of Lemons.
Afro Unicorn founder and CEO April Showers will lead a panel discussion with Afro Unicorn Foundation President Kenyelle Ash and Afro Unicorn Chief Marketing Operator Mel Kyle-Cofer. Scheduled for 3:30 pm, the live Q&A session titled Building Your Brand promises to be a fantastic opportunity for emerging entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Speaking of which, vendor participation in the Afro Unicorn Foundation's Small Business Market is an opportunity for vendors to showcase their unique products and services and make a meaningful impact on the lives of young girls in underserved communities.
By participating in this event, vendors are helping us empower these girls to embrace their uniqueness, boost confidence, and develop their business and entrepreneurship skills. Each program participant will have the opportunity to volunteer at a vendor booth.
Vendors also have the chance to win a $500 grant given by Afro Unicorn CEO April Showers, which will further support their business endeavors.
